Serving Recommendations

Serve chilled, ideally between 28 and 32 degrees Fahrenheit. For a generous tasting, plan approximately one ounce per person. Present in chilled glass or crystal with a Mother of Pearl spoon to preserve the purity of flavor. Metal utensils can affect the taste and are not recommended.

What is the difference between Caviar and Roe?
While the terms are often used interchangeably, there is a distinct difference. Roe refers to any and all fish eggs (such as salmon or trout), while Caviar refers specifically to the eggs of the sturgeon. All caviar is roe, but not all roe is caviar.
Which caviar is the "best"?
Much like wine, the "best" caviar is a matter of personal preference. While many consider Beluga (or Kaluga-Huso Hybrid) to be the finest due to its buttery finish, other aficionados prefer the robust, nutty flavors of Ossetra or the clean profile of Sevruga. We recommend trying different varietals to discover your personal favorite.
How should I store caviar and how long does it last?
Caviar is highly perishable. If the tin's original seal is intact and kept refrigerated at 38°F (3.3°C), it will stay fresh for 3-4 weeks. Once opened, the tin should be kept chilled and consumed within 24 hours.
What is the proper way to serve caviar?
Traditional methods include serving it "neat" or atop a blini with a dollop of crème fraîche.

Important: Never use silver or steel flatware, as these metals impart an unwanted metallic taste.
Tip: Use mother-of-pearl, bone, or gold-plated spoons for the best flavor and presentation.
Serving: Always keep your caviar tin over crushed ice while serving to maintain temperature.
Is your caviar sustainable and where does it come from?
Yes. To protect wild populations, all legal caviar is now sustainably farmed. We work with prestigious farms across the globe to source sturgeon raised in ideal, pollutant-free conditions. This ensures a sustainable, superior quality product.
